TOEFL Language Test

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), conducted via the Internet, measures English language proficiency and is a crucial part of your journey to studying in an English-speaking country. The ETS TOEFL Program also offers tools and guides to help you prepare for the test and enhance your English skills.

Who Accepts TOEFL iBT Test Scores?
Over 8,500 institutions, agencies, and organizations in more than 130 countries accept TOEFL scores. Your test results will be evaluated along with other application materials to determine if you possess the required academic and language proficiency to be admitted into a standard or modified study program. The score requirements may vary based on your field of study and whether you are applying as a graduate or undergraduate student.

Is There a Minimum Acceptable Score?
Each institution sets its own minimum TOEFL score requirements, which can differ depending on factors such as the applicant's study field, level of study (undergraduate or graduate), whether the applicant will serve as a teaching assistant, and whether the institution provides English as a Second Language (ESL) support.

Test Seat Availability
The TOEFL test is administered throughout the year, particularly on weekends. In Nigeria, there are a limited number of authorized centers offering the TOEFL iBT test. Due to high demand, test seats fill up quickly, so students are encouraged to register in advance to secure their preferred test date.

On the day of the test, you must present an international passport for identification. It is recommended to allocate at least one month for thorough preparation before taking the TOEFL examination.
